Martin Keown is refusing to rule Arsene Wenger's side out of the title race

Martin Keown is confident that Arsenal can bounce back in the Premier League title race after their 2-1 loss at Everton on Tuesday night.

The north London side appeared to be edging towards three points after Alexis Sanchez’s deflected free-kick broke the deadlock at Goodison Park.

However, Republic of Ireland international Seamus Coleman levelled the Premier League clash before half-time with a close-range header.

Everton centre-half Ashley Williams netted a late winner to bring to an end Arsenal’s impressive 14-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

The Gunners are six points behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League title race after their setback on the blue half of Merseyside.

Former Arsenal defender Keown believes there is still plenty of fire in the belly of Arsene Wenger’s players ahead of their trip to title rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

“The dropped points ahead of a busy Christmas period will hurt but I think Arsene Wenger will have seen enough from his players to know that there is enough fire in their bellies,” Keown told The Daily Mail.

“Arsenal had plenty of fight — I have no idea how Alex Iwobi’s shot that was cleared off the line did not go in. I just feel that Ozil — their main man — was not on form.”

The Gunners signed five players in the summer transfer window after Wenger’s men finished in second place in the Premier League title last season.
