Lucas Perez jokes that it is hard to learn English at Arsenal

Lucas Perez returned to Arsenal today having spent the international break at Deportivo La Coruna.

Perez has struggled for playing time at Arsenal so far this season, predominantly due to the fine attacking form shown by the Gunners attackers.

An injury in the EFL Cup win over Reading has also curtailed Perez’s progress and Arsene Wenger sent him back to Spain to aid his recuperation.

Speaking on Spanish radio before returning to London, Perez reflected on his time at Arsenal so far.

He jokes that sharing a dressing room with Santi Cazorla, Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal, meant “It is difficult to learn English because I come to the dressing room and everyone speaks Spanish!”

On Arsene Wenger, Perez describes the French boss as a “private person that surprises us day to day”.

On the age old debate, Perez said: “the Premier League is more competitive than La Liga” and added that he hopes to return from injury in December and “prove myself”.

Finally, Perez admitted on the radio just how much he is connected to Deportivo La Coruna.

The Arsenal striker said: “Deportivo is my team, it’s my house, it’s the only badge I’ve ever kissed.”
