Ian Wright has emphatically rubbished the suggestion that Arsenal should considering selling Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez if the pair fail to agree new Gunners deals before the summer transfer window.

The former Barcelona and Real Madrid players are thought to be in negotiations with the north London club on improved deals as the pair continue to help Arsene Wenger’s side stay on track in the title race.

Ozil and Sanchez are Arsenal’s highest earners thanks to their current £140,000-a-week deals but the Gunners duo are believed to want in the region of £250,000 a week.

The Chile forward scored twice in a 3-1 win against Bournemouth at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon to take his tally to eight goals this season.

Ozil, meanwile, has netted seven goals and has made three assists in the Premier League and the Champions League in the 2016-17 campaign so far.

Sanchez has been linked with a move to Manchester City in recent months, while Ozil has emerged as a potential target for Manchester United.

Asked whether Arsenal should look to cash in on Ozil and Sanchez if their pair fail to agree new deals during BBC Radio Five Live’s 606 show, Wright said: “No I wouldn’t want that. We need those two. No way.”
