Granit Xhaka has insisted that he is determined to achieve success with Arsenal in his first season at the club.

The Swiss midfielder is currently getting to grips with life at The Emirates following his summer transfer to Arsenal from German side Borussia Monchengladbach.

Xhaka has already made 17 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger’s men this season as he continues to get used to the rigours of the Premier League.

Arsenal have fallen behind in the race for the Premier League title in recent weeks and currently trail leaders Chelsea by a considerable distance.

However, the midfielder is not being discouraged and is determined to try and help Arsenal bounce back in the second half of the season, with a Champions League knockout tie against Bayern Munich looming large.

Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Xhaka said: “I hope to stay fit and healthy of course, that’s most important, and that we’re successful on the pitch.

“We have a lot of aspiration at the club, including the players, and we work hard every day to realise those aspirations. We hope that we’ll have success to show for those efforts come the end of the year.

“What would be successful? Well, every club has objectives. We want to achieve those objectives, so we want to show that we have managed to achieve what we set out to do in the summer.”
