Arsenal are 'hanging on' to Chelsea in Premier League title race claims Wenger

Arsenal are 'hanging on' to Chelsea in the Premier League title race, according to Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners travel to Bournemouth tonight aiming to record their third consecutive top-flight victory.

But even securing three points at the expense of Eddie Howe's side will only be enough to move within six points of pacesetters Chelsea.

Antonio Conte's side are in the driving seat, having secured 13 wins on the bounce in recent months, and could put further ground between themselves and the chasing pack with victory at Spurs later this week.

Arsenal remain in the hunt for the trophy but Wenger has conceded his side can do little other than hope for results to turn in their favour during the second half of the season.

"What's happening in this league is that all the expected big teams win against smaller teams - that was not always the case," Wenger insisted.

"Since November it is like that so the only moment where teams drop points at the moment is where they play against eachother - but that can change again.

"At the moment Chelsea wins every single game and they are comfortable up front.
