Alexis Sanchez thinks that living in London can be "stressful"

Alexis Sanchez has admitted that his life in London can be “stressful” as he weighs up whether to continue at Arsenal next season.

The lure of London was strong for the Chilean international in the summer of 2014, when he rejected interest from Liverpool because he preferred the prospect of living in the capital.

“I like to go to London to eat something or have a drink with my friends,” Sanchez told the Arsenal magazine. “However, I am a very home-loving person and I spend a lot of time at home.

“I do explore the city if I have the time for it but normally I would rather stay relaxed at home. London can be a stressful place because it's crowded and it's a big city.

“Our routines as footballers can be energy-consuming too. You play one game after another, meet new people every day and travel a lot. That is why I try to disconnect and relax as soon as I get some time off.”

Sanchez has 18 months left to run on the contract he signed when he left Barcelona for Arsenal in two-and-a-half years ago and is looked in talks over whether to extend.

Both he and Mesut Ozil are demanding pay parity with the Premier League’s top stars, setting Paul Pogba’s £290,000-a-week pay packet at Manchester United as a benchmark.
